Prominent Specs of iPhone XS

iPhone XS

Here are all the specs of Apple iPhone XS that you need to keep your eyes on.

iPhone XS has A12 Bionic, which we’ve seen in some of the previous iPhones as well.

Operating System

iPhone XS runs on the not so latest iOS 12. Although, it is still the latest version of iOS available in the market for consumers, but with the rumors of the new iOS 13 launching soon, we want to see what happens to it. In terms of operation, iOS is unbelievably smooth and beats Android in the eternal iPhone VS. Android war.

The latest Apple phone comes with more then 512 GB of built-in storage, which, in our opinion, is an overkill for majority of the people.

iPhone XS uses a RAM of 4 GB, which is unlike anything you’ll find in other smartphones. 4GB RAM ensures your phone is always running smoothly without any lag.

You can connect XS via Bluetooth and NFC. For wired connectivity, it doesn’t have a regular 3.5mm audio jack.

The dimensions for iPhone XS are 143.6 mm x 70.9 mm x 7.7 mm. Although, it is less impressive than the gigantic XS Max, it’s still acceptable.

iPhone XS weighs about 6.24 ounces that is 177 in grams, making it a considerably lighter phone.

Screen Size

If the XS Max wasn’t in the picture, XS’s 5.8 inches OLED screen would surely be an adequate feature as most smartphones these days come with similar screen size.

iPhone XS Resolution

The screen resolution for XS is 2,436 x 1,125 pixels, which is awesome in its own right.

iPhone XS Camera

Dual main cameras with different focal length allows you to take breathtaking shots. Both cameras are 12 MP with 1.8/f and 2.4/f respectively. You can easily record videos in 2160 pixels, which you won’t find in any other smartphone on the market. The Selfie cam is 7 MP, which is disappointing as most phones are offering 8 MP front cam.

Although it doesn’t have an audio jack, the stereo and loudspeaker makes up for it. These new phones allow better and wider sounds unlike any we’ve heard in the previous Apple phones.

It has a 10W Non-removable Li-Ion 2658 mAh battery as a default but you can change it out with a fast charging 15W battery, which takes only thirty minutes to charge up to 15%.

Safety and Security Features

The new iPhone XS has now a Face ID by the most sophisticated technology that apple has. It is more secure than fingerprints. The face ID in the iPhone XS can do more than just unlocking your phone. And it will do it in a more faster and easier way. Now you can log in your apps, your accounts and more by just a single glance. Forget about using usernames or passwords now. Another specialty is that, it can recognize your face even if you are wearing sunglasses, makeup, a hat, anything.

Security Features

The iPhone XS Max has almost the same security features, Face ID, as the iPhone XS. It uses the TrueDepth camera system to identify the face, and it can recognise the face in any lighting. You can also use not just for unlocking you phone, you can use it to have access to your apps and accounts. The only different feature the iPhone XS max has is the new USB restricted mode. It prevent hackers and law enforcement to access your phone. They can hack your phone from Cellebrite and GrayKey but the XS Max prevents that from happening.

The price tag is obscene. Who knew we would be spending thousands of dollars on smartphones one day. But when you look at the specs you are getting, it seems like a reasonable price. The Apple XS is available at $1,349 while its bigger sibling costs $1449 for 512 GB. Other variations include $999 for 64GB, $1,149 for 256GB for iPhone XS. On the other hand, you’ll pay $1,099 for 64GB, $1,249 for 256GB to buy iPhone XS Max.

The Pros

  • Gigantic Display worthy of a mini theater
  • Smart HDR cameras
  • Long Battery life

The Cons

  • Exorbitant Price
  • Not much difference in both phones

The Final Verdict

The iPhone XS Max, undoubtedly, takes the spotlight. With a big screen, clear OLED display, huge internal storage, a fast running processor and smart HDR cameras, it is a phone worth having. While the price is a bit high, there are cheaper variations available.

Moreover, you can buy it in installment from Apple outlet, making it even more affordable. Since both phones are similar in function, we don’t think anyone would opt for Apple XS, when they can buy XS Max by paying just a little more.
