The long-awaited new iPhone 7 is finally here. Revealed by Apple at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco recently, the new iPhone 7 model will be released worldwide on September 16, 2016. Let’s have a look at some of the most interesting features that differentiate it from the iPhone 6 and 6S Plus:
New iPhone 7
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will both be water and dust resistant. Do not worry if you have to remain under water for about 30 minutes up to 1 meter deep with iPhone 7 in your pocket. Both Samsung and Sony are already offering water resistant phones, so that’s not innovative rather a catch-up feature.
The new water resistant phones is available in multiple colors. From silver, rose gold, gold to glossy “Jet Black” and matte black, the choice depends on you. The famous space grey color is replaced by Jet Black this time.
The new iPhone keeps the 12-megapixel rear camera of its predecessor with some welcome changes including 6-element lens with greater aperture than the 5-element lens in the iPhone 6S. This would enable it to take better pictures in low light. Other salient features are bigger f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, four LED flash, upgraded image signal processor and additional assistance for wide color capture. The front camera has also got better adding 2 more megapixels.
Iconic Home Button
The iconic home button uses a new version of the Touch-sensitive ID sensor. Instead of clicking it, you can stimulate it similar to the Force Touch trackpad available in MacBooks. It also includes haptic feedback for better user experience and feel.
Stereo Speaker Taking Place of The Headphone Jack
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus now use stereo speakers, located at the top and bottom of the device. The stereo speakers come with an increased dynamic range. No headphone jack is available now, so you have to switch to a lightning converter or a pair of Bluetooth earbuds.
The new iPhone 7 and 7 plus are powered by the A10 Fusion, Apple’s most powerful processor so far. The 64-bit quad-core processor is 40% faster than A9 used in iPhone 6 and 6S Plus. Moreover, the A10 is not only 120 times faster than the original iPhone processor, but also improves the graphics of the new iPhones to render better images, videos and games.
Improved Battery Time
The new iPhones promise an improved battery time. The iPhone 7’s battery will last 2 hours longer than the iPhone 6S, whereas iPhone 7 Plus adds an extra half an hour battery time over its previous counterpart iPhone 6S Plus.

The price of the iPhone 7 starts at $649 with the storage capacity not limited to 16GB for the first time. This means that you can choose from 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
